Hydrographic & Bathymetric Survey – The Wave Muscat Coastal Project

GIS Mappers, in collaboration with Nusail Engineering Consultancy, conducted a hydrographic and bathymetric survey for The Wave Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. The project involved precise seabed profiling along the project’s coastline, supporting future marine infrastructure development and engineering works.

The survey was carried out using an Odom Hydrotrac single-frequency (200 kHz) echo sounder, Valeport Tide Gauge, and Sokkia RTK GPS. Data were collected at 5–10 meter intervals along pre-defined lines, ensuring comprehensive seabed coverage.

Maps with contour lines at 0.50 m intervals were prepared in 1:1000 scale as per client requirements. Deliverables included .dwg and .dxf drawings, ASCII coordinate files (x, y, z), and tidal data correlated with predictions from the closest port.

The entire process followed a structured pre-survey investigation to ensure safety and alignment with project objectives. Bathymetric data were processed using HydroPro software, providing high-accuracy seabed models essential for dredging volume calculations and marine project bidding.

This survey supports sustainable development and precision engineering planning along The Wave Muscat coastline.
